The Lady Mustangs battled the Seawolves of UNBSJ back and forth for almost the entire 40-minutes of play. CM had leads of 18, 20, and 16 only to see the Seawolves put together small runs to keep the game around 10-12 points. The CM defense kept bending, but never broke, and finally pulled away with less than 6-minutes to play in the game.
Maggie Sabine had the performance of the Can-Am tournament by dominating the interior and doing it all on both ends of the floor. Sabine finished with 30-points, 11 rebounds, and 1 offensive foul while shooting an outstanding 65% from the floor. Susie French flirted with a triple double, finishing with 17 points, 9 rebounds, and 7 steals. Danielle McCusker got hot late, and finished with 11 points, and Corrie Kinder came off the bench, hitting two big threes in the second half to finish with 11 points.
Both Ariel McConkey and Maggie McConkey played great all around games, keeping constant defensive pressure on the UNBSJ guards.
CM is back in action next weekend when that play Navy Prep on Saturday and CCRI on Sunday. Both games are being played at SMCC in South Portland.
