Mustangs drop thriller in overtime

Biddeford, ME -  UNE and the Mustang's did not disappoint on a Sunday morning matchup as both teams would come out with urgency.  However, UNE would get the best of the Mustangs with a 7-6 overtime win.

The first period UNE was able to capitalize on 2 quick strikes as the Mustangs would miss some great opportunities to tie the game. Noah Buisniskas was able to score his first college goal on the Powerplay after finding a rebound in the slot. This would spark the Mustangs as they scored 2 more unanswered goals to grab a 4-3 second period lead. The Mustangs would grab a 5-3 lead from a goal from the newcomer Chad Marelaschi. UNE would not quit and found some bounces in front of the net that would end up sending it to overtime with a 6-6 score. 

 In overtime UNE would convert with a 2-1 rush finding the five hole to end the Mustang's night. Noah Bird had a bounce back performance making 43 saves. ''I am super proud of our team with a shorter bench and back to back situation we found some urgency and competed until the bitter end,'' said Coach Knoren'.
