Mustangs Win Big Road Game in Boston

Everett, MA- The Mustangs traveled for a very important division matchup with highly ranked #9 Wentworth College Saturday. '' The message was clear-- we have to take care of business and beat teams above us in the ranking'' Said Head Coach Jordy Knoren.

In period one, it was the Leopards who started strong and put the Mustangs on their heels early.  Hunter Raye made some incredible saves to keep the game 0-0 and the Mustangs would almost convert on the powerplay but just couldn't find the final finishing touch.

The second period started off conservative as both teams didn't want to give up the first goal, However the Mustangs would strike first when Anthonin Picard was able to beat the goaltender on the short side. The team found a spark that was well deserved and would score three more goals within two minutes! '' We talked a lot about putting teams away when we get a chance and tonight, we took care of that'' said Knoren.  Cody Ivey, Charles Campagna and Jonah Bird would be the goal scorers to put the Mustangs up 4-0. The Leopards were able to answer on a 5-3 powerplay to give themselves some life going in the locker-room.

The third period the message was clear, get pucks out and get pucks deep. '' I think the third period really showed how much we have learned and grown since the beginning, this group responded and played a solid road game we couldn't be prouder of the team.'' said the coaching staff."  The Mustangs would frustrate the Leopards as they couldn't breakthrough and Cody Ivey and Nate Marcotte would end up both finding the net to make it 6-1.  Hunter Raye had a stellar performance notching 49 saves a career high.

The Mustangs had much needed assist from: Crewz Berry 3x, Spencer Berube 3x, Tim van Tuinen, Sam Laroche, Cody Ivey and Jonah Bird

The team will enjoy a week of thanksgiving break and will be back in action on December 4th going on the road to face New Haven University

'' It's a great feeling beating a highly ranked team by a high margin, and the guys really deserved nothing but compliments for the outstanding performance tonight'' Said Coach Knoren'
