Mustangs Slide by SMCC in Overtime 4-3

So. Portland, ME - CMCC traveled to SMCC to try and avenge their earlier loss this season. Brian Kearns provided a great through ball to Shane Hurdle to put the Mustang's ahead 1-0. Just a few minutes later Hurdle scored again after collecting a shot from Ahmed Mohamed. That score held until half time, 2-0 Mustangs. SMCC came out aggressive in the second half. Twenty minutes into the second half SMCC got on the scoreboard, and in the next 5 minutes SM would add two more goals and claimed the lead for the first time. It would have been easy for CM to hang their head in defeat but with eight minutes left in the game Ahmed Mohamed received a ball from Yussuf Shinio and tied the game. That score held and the Mustangs found themselves in their first overtime of the season.   It didn't last long as Erik Waite took the ball deep into the Southern Maine corner and crossed the ball to a wide open Ahmed Mohamed for the win. Jon Ross Caron had seven critical saves. The entire CM CC midfield played very well.
