Mustangs Cage Bobcats to Stay Unbeaten

Albany, NY - The top-ranked CMCC Mustangs continued their dominant early-season form with a commanding 109–63 win over USCAA Division I opponent Bryant & Stratton Albany on Saturday afternoon. The win moves CMCC to 11–0 on the season, once again showcasing their unmatched depth, defensive pressure, and team-first identity.

The Mustangs blitzed the Bobcats from the opening tip, putting up 40 points in the first quarter and 73 in the first half, despite playing without veteran captains and traditional starters Cassie Ririnui and Stella Laubenstein. CMCC had five players score in double figures and 14 of the 15 Mustangs got in the scoring column.

Breanna Dwyer (Gold Coast, Australia) continued her standout season with 17 points, 5 rebounds, 5 steals, and 3 assists. Caitlyn McCoy (Greene, ME) knocked down three triples on her way to 13 points, while Gabbie Tibbetts (West Paris, ME) added 12 points, 4 assists, and 3 steals. Ava Smith (Casco, ME) recorded a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds, and Autumn Peterson (Cherryfield, ME), making her first start of the season, scored 10 points in an expanded role.

CMCC finished with 30 assists, 25 steals, and 21 offensive rebounds. No player played more than 16 minutes, and every Mustang saw at least 9 minutes of action. The team also drew six offensive fouls, including three from Abilene Corson, who also notched a game- and career-high 7 assists while running the point efficiently.

"This was a great showcase of our depth," said head coach Andrew Morong. "Autumn stepped into a bigger role and responded the way we hoped she would. Abilene is really starting to emerge as a floor general. We have the pieces, we just need to keep tightening our rotations and cleaning up the details."

The Mustangs wrap up the first semester at 11-0, and after a short break will retuen to game-action in early-January.
