Auburn, ME - Mustangs were pushed to their limits on Sunday afternoon beating UNE 4-3 in overtime. In what seems a familiar story the Mustangs were the much better team 5 on 5, but failed to convert their scoring chances and let UNE in the game. After going down 3-1 the Mustangs would score the next 3 to earn a hard-fought victory. ''I didn't think it was our best game, but the character that we showed to fight back and never give up is something special with this group,'' said Coach Knoren.
Gabe Poirier scored with 18 seconds left in the third period to force overtime. Poirier would then score the game winning goal in OT!
The Men's Hockey Team would like to thank the crowd for their overwhelming support, and we were glad to celebrate this hard-fought victory with all of you!
Mustangs will be back in action on Wednesday night against Colby College for a 7:30 p.m. puck drop
