Track and Field Competes at Bates “Fresh” Tune-Up

Lewiston, ME – The CMCC Track and Field team got some indoor competition under its belt at the Bates College "Fresh" Tune-Up ahead of the start of the outdoor season at the end of March. Four athletes, one from the women's team and three from the men's squad, took part in the event.

Felicia Marin competed in the 60 meters, 200 meters, and shot put events. The Hampden Academy product placed eighth in the 60-meter dash final with a time of 8.36 seconds. Marin came home fifth in the 200 meters, posting a time of 27.95. She rounded out her day in the shot put with her longest throw coming in at 7.45 meters.

On the men's side, Brosnan Comeau was the fastest of three CMCC runners in the 400 meters. The sophomore from Monmouth, ME posted a speedy 58:28 seconds time, but did have concerns about an ankle injury marking an end to his day.

Mark Schepici and Zachary Peirce put up times of 1:09.63 and 1:00.05 respectively in the 400 before also taking part in the 200 meters. Shepici, a second year out of Malden High School in Massachusetts, ran a personal best 29.34 seconds. Peirce placed 20th overall with a time of 27.30 for the Foxcroft Academy graduate. All three men were part of the Central Maine Cross Country team.

The next event on the team's schedule is the outdoor opener. The Mustangs travel to Southern New Hampshire University on Saturday, March 29th for the SNHU Spring Invite.
