Head women's Soccer Coach, Rob Rodriguez is pleased to announce the commitment of Lewiston High School senior forward/midfielder Kajha Gagnon. Gagnon is a Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference (KVAC) Second Team All-Star forward and a Class A North Sun Journal Regional All-Star.
According to Coach Rodriguez, "We first saw Kajha play back in the fall of 2016 as a junior. She then came to a winter clinic we did in February of 2017 and I was able to see her on the field with some other very talented players. Her technical ability and touch on the ball stood out and at that point we got really excited about the potential of her becoming a Mustang."
Lewiston High School Girls Soccer Coach, Brant Remington mentioned, "Kajha is a highly skilled midfielder with great soccer knowledge. She started all four years on the varsity team and was a two-time conference all-star, a state all-star in her senior year, and a team captain".
In regards to her commitment to CM, Gagnon commented, "During the open house everyone was very friendly and supportive and I liked seeing the crime lab and the simulators in the Criminal Justice Department. I'm looking forward to being on the field again and I think that college soccer will be more competitive and more difficult than my previous experiences."
Coach Rodriguez added, "Kajha will be part of a very strong and skilled incoming freshmen class that, when added to our returning group of players, is going to put a very exciting brand of soccer on the field in the fall. Recruiting players from the Lewiston-Auburn community is extremely important because they bring local interest with them and this is going to be a particularly fun team to come watch."
