Auburn, ME - Penalties stacked up as the UMaine Black Bears defeated the Central Maine Mustangs 8-4. Despite emphasizing a discipline approach, the game turned into a penalty-filled contest. UMaine was able to capitalize on its power play opportunities and stay ahead in the game to seal the win at Norway Savings Bank Arena in the Mustangs home opener.
Jordin Eurenius contributed two goals and an assist in the contest. Collin Sheehan added a goal and Jordy Knoren added a goal and an assist. Shawn O'Connell and Nathan Foye added assists on the night.
Kenny Miller finished the night with 36 saves despite the end result, playing solid between the pipes.
Central Maine takes the home ice Sunday against the University of New England.
