Men's Basketball All-Decade Team

Auburn, ME - Director of Athletics & Head Men's Basketball Coach, Dave Gonyea, is pleased to announce the 2010-2020 Men's Basketball All-Decade Team.

An official awards ceremony will take place this spring/summer pending COVID-19 restrictions and Maine CDC guidelines. The intent is to schedule this awards ceremony on the same night as our annual Hall of Fame Banquet, during Alumni Weekend. An exact date, with more details, will be provided later this winter.

According to Coach Gonyea, "We are proud to present you with the 12 best men's basketball players who have donned the uniforms from 2010-2020.  The skill level, commitment, and work ethic it takes to be a Mustang cannot be understated. This list represents those players who led their teams to success. They were the leaders, and contributors on and off the court who kept CM in the race year after year. While a player at CM, their personal growth expanded and allowed most of them future opportunities to play at a higher level.  Some earned athletic scholarships; some earned academic scholarships, but what they all have in common is a loyalty and respect for their team and school."

Nick Hinkley

"Nick was the teammate every player wanted to play beside. His aggressive defense and ability to make teammates around him better was the hallmark of his game. Likeable on and off the court, Nick served as a team captain."

Curtis Miller

"Need a three…call Curtis Miler.  Deadly from the three-point line and range others could only dream of, Curtis led the squad from the arc and was rewarded by earing the USCAA All-American Award."

Samson Olayemi

"A 6'2" point guard in the Yankee Conference who could handle and pass the ball with ease, Samson was named Yankee Conference runner up player of the year, named USCAA All-American, and earned a full athletic Scholarship to John Brown University."

Jalen Lincoln

"Consistent, hardworking, and a great teammate, Jalen employed a high basketball IQ and could master any skill he learned.  His shot was deadly, and his ability to see teammates on the court was uncanny.  Off the court, he personified class and leadership."

Kazre Cummings

"Silent but deadly, Kazre was the leader who led by example.  Nobody outworked Kazre.  He was known as the gentle giant who owned the boards, matched up against the bigs, and most importantly, was a defensive presence inside.  One of the most popular teammates at CM."

Carrington Miller

"Carrington was known as a high flyer who liked to play around the rim. His rebounding talent, and ability to score inside made his game multifaceted. Carrington earned a USCAA All-American Award."

Timy Flanagan

"Probably the best on-ball defender in CM history. He was called upon to guard the oppositions best player every game. His talent extended to the offensive side as well, hitting key shots game after game."

Pietro Badalassi

"Known as the "first Aussie", Pietro came to America with a work ethic and commitment rarely seen. His goals from the beginning was to play at CM, earn an associate's degree, earn full scholarship at the next level, and work for his bachelor's degree at a level while playing basketball. Not only did he achieve a full athletic scholarship, he earned the USCAA All-American Award along the way."

Rob Skinner

"With sheer athletic ability on his side, Rob directed the Mustang offense and could do it all; handle the ball, set up teammates, and score when needed. Rob was known for his quick hands on defense and turned games around with his defensive abilities and instincts."

Josh Chery

"Passion, work ethic, and commitment to improving every day describes Josh's' game. He improved every day expanding his game from a big man to a big guard. Josh earned both an academic and athletic scholarship to the next level."

Elijah Barbour

"Elijah never met a shot he didn't like. His ability to drain three-point shots was second to none. He saved his best for the biggest games. The bigger the game, the more Elijah got involved. He could single handily carry the team."

Corey David

"A loyal CM boy, Corey has overcome a lot of diversity in his basketball life to get to where he is. He now plays in a different style of basketball. He has overcome serious injuries that would have caused the average player to quit. His leadership skills have been developed and is well respected by his teammates."
