Auburn, ME – The Central Maine Community College fall athletic teams combined to take home an impressive haul of individual hardware, collecting 26 individual awards.
Men's Soccer once again picked up the most accolades after winning their second straight USCAA National Championship. The Mustangs posted an undefeated 16-0-3 record to take the title as the #1 seed and won their fifth straight Yankee Small College Conference championship. For that impressive record, Dalton Wing was named YSCC Coach of the Year.
Mitch Cameron received the most awards of any player with both USCAA and YSCC Player of the Year honors. The sophomore from Northwich, England was also named USCAA National Tournament MVP, 1st-Team All-American, and YSCC All-Conference after tallying 23 goals, 8 assists, and 54 points. Both the midfielder's goal and point totals were the fourth-most in the country. The captain also was an Academic All-American to boot.
Matty Waters earned a spot on the USCAA All-Tournament Team after scoring both goals in the championship match. The defender was also a 1st-Team All-American and YSCC All-Conference selection. Fellow fullback Massimo Di Pilato joined him on the All-Conference list and was a 2nd-Team All-American while Yoan Thériault rounded out the team's four All-Conference picks and earned All-American Honorable Mention status.
Albie Fozard-Oakes led the USCAA with 19 assists and earned a spot on the All-Tournament Team after setting up four goals over the three games. Fellow freshman Daniel Semple was also named to the team after scoring in both pool play matches. The forward was second on the team and sixth in the country with 18 goals, earning YSCC Tournament Most Outstanding Offensive Player accolades as well. Mikel Soto rounded out the individual hardware for the team with the hardworking box-to-box midfielder being selected YSCC Tournament MVP.
Women's Soccer received honors for both captain Bianca Gilmore and forward Mikayla Martorano. Gilmore helped guide the team to the #2 seed in the YSCC East Division, with the defender being selected both USCAA 1st-Team All-American and YSCC All-Conference. Martorano marked her first season in Auburn, after transferring from SMCC, scoring six goals and obtaining All-Conference and All-American Honorable Mention awards.
Volleyball saw Isabella Higgins named a YSCC All-Conference pick after leading the team with 113 kills. Captain Keliah Stith was an Honorable Mention selection in her first year as a setter, after getting an All-Conference nod last year as a libero.
In Golf, Brian Bilodeau was impressive all year, competing among the YSCC's best. He earned an All-Conference spot after finishing tied for fourth at the YSCC Championship with a round of 77.
Cross Country also had an individual performance in the top eight to collect an All-Conference spot. Freshman Eva Fleurent had some blistering performances throughout the fall. The Biddeford, ME native came home second in the women's 6K with a time of 28:20.
Additionally, the CMCC fall championship teams showed they were no slouch in the classroom either, with an outstanding 15 USCAA Academic All-Americans. You can see the full list broken down by sport below.
