Auburn, ME - The Yankee Small College Conference is proud to announce the 2018 Spring All-Academic teams. Student-Athletes can make All-Academic teams with a 3.2 GPA or higher.
Central Maine Community College lead all YSCC schools by placing 22 student-athletes on the Spring All-Academic Team.
Athletic Director and Head Men's Basketball Coach, Dave Gonyea, on the announcement, "We are thrilled that so many of our student-athletes were recognized for their hardwork on the field or court and in the classroom. We hope to build off this momentum and have even more of our student-athletes recognized during the 2018-19 academic year."
Head Women's Basketball Coach, Andrew Morong, commented, "As far as our team is concerned, this is no surprise. We spend a lot of time recruiting student-athletes that are going to challenge themselves academically, because in reality, basketball is just icing on the cake. They are here to earn a degree and transfer or start a career, and they cannot do those things without setting and achieving goals in the classroom. We are hoping to hit double-digits within our team next year, and place at least two more student-athletes on the Academic All-American team."
