Mustangs Outshoot Unity 19-9 in 2OT Tie

Auburn, ME- Despite outshooting the Unity College men's soccer team 19-9, the Central Maine Community College Mustangs ended the double overtime game with a tie 0-0 on Wednesday afternoon. The mustangs controlled the ball of the majority of the game and ended up missing the goal by inches on multiple shots throughout the contest. Shane Hurdle (Glastonbury, CT), Casey Wong (Bath,ME), and Abdijabar Hersi (Lewiston, ME) all were able to get multiple looks at the net in the contest, but were unable to finish, hitting the crossbar multiple times. Goal keeper Brian Mills (Scarborough, ME) only managed to tally 3 saves for the Mustangs, because of the lack of shooting opportunities for Unity College due to a stellar defensive performance by the Mustangs. The Mustangs now hold a 3-2-1 record this fall season. Soccer will now travel to Southern Maine Community College on the 30th of September at 4 p.m for their next Yankee Small College Conference game.
