Jesse Dixon, former collegiate player from Nothern Maine Community College and the University of Maine at Presque Isle, is back for his second year at CM. Dixon received his AA degree in Liberal Studies from NMCC and transferred to UMPI where he is finishing out his Bachelor's degree.
In his college playing career, Dixon averaged 10.5 ppg along with 3.4 rebounds per game.
While at UMPI, Dixon spent the summer as an Upward Bound/Trio Counselor helping high school kids get ready for college in a program where kids lived on the college campus and took classes. This experience has taught him the value of building personal relationships.
Originally, from Orlando, Florida, he has fallen in love with Maine and found a new home. However, his southern roots has paid dividends as he's still is invested in the recruiting pipeline in Florida. Recruiting is a passion and his handprints are all over some of the present UMPI players as well as some of the incoming Mustangs.
According to Coach Gonyea, "I have known Coach Dixon for four years now and have always thought he would be a good coach. He loves breaking the game down, working out with the players, and takes pride in finding the diamond out there who will be a fit for our program. I am very pleased he has come aboard!!"
Coach Dixon also coaches the CM JV squad.
