Joe Cormier, known for his prowess in soccer left an indelible mark on CMCC athletics with his outstanding achievements and sportsmanship. The Auburn, ME native played soccer for the Mustangs for three seasons in '97, '98, and '99, and also spent two years on the basketball team in '98-'99 and '99-'00. Joe had a sensational 1997 men's soccer season as a Goalkeeper, forming a duo with Cliff Thurston. Together the pair set the then-program record for fewest goals allowed in a season with just 14 conceded in 1997. Cormier registered 16 saves in a single game vs Concord in 1997, second most in program history. Cormier won three straight Northern New England Small College Conference (NNESCC) championships with the Mustangs.

He was inducted into the CMCC Athletics Hall of Fame in 2024.
