Coach Fournier has spent the last five seasons as an assistant lacrosse coach, at Bates College in the ultra-competitive New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC). After spending the first four years with the Bates team working on the offensive side of the ball, Fournier switched to defense during the last season. Prior to coaching at Bates College, Fournier led the Lewiston High School Boys Lacrosse team for seven seasons, where they amassed a stellar 72–23 record. The team enjoyed an Eastern Maine championship and an appearance in the state title game in 2006. Fournier was twice voted Coach of the Year, in 2006 and 2008.
