Uniontown, PA - On Tuesday the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) hosted its annual All-American Basketball Banquet as part of national tournament week, and once again, CM had multiple students recognized. This year, Kristina Blais, Holly Decourcey, and Brooke Reynolds were all recognized for their performance on the court and/or in the classroom.
Sophomore captain, Holly Decourcey (Billerica, MA), was recongized as a USCAA Academic All-American. DeCourcey, who is apart of the Honors Program at CM, acheived this honor by amassing a GPA of 3.5 or higher. She will be graduating this spring with a degree in Life Sciences, and plans to attend Bridgewater State University to become a Physician's Assistant.
CM's other sophomore captain, Kristina Blais (Lewiston, ME) was also recognized as a USCAA Academic All-American. Additionally, she was awarded USCAA All-American Honorable Mention Honors. Blais becomes the first Lady Mustang to collect both academic and athletic honors in the same season since current assistant coach, Laura Soohey, did so in 2015. After graduating this spring with a degree in Business Administration & Management, Blais plans to attend the University of Southern Maine this fall.
Junior, Brooke Reynolds (Poland, ME) joined elite company by being named a USCAA 1st Team All-American for the second straight year. Reynolds joins former Lady Mustangs, Susie French, Ashley Swett, and Lynn Girourd to form an elite group of players to receive multiple 1st team honors.
The Lady Mustangs begin tournament play tonight at 6:00pm when they take on the host of the tournament, Penn State Fayette, in the quarterfinal. To follow all of the action, check out the links below:
