Auburn, ME – Rebounding eighteen hours after dropping a difficult road game in Machias, the Mustangs regrouped to cage the Bobcats from Paul Smith College by a 69-57 score at Kirk Hall.
The game was back and forth for the first twelve minutes with both teams feeling each other out. Using a multiple of players, the Mustangs applied full court pressure for the entire game attempting to wear down the visitors. This effort began to pay dividends as halftime approached with CM jumping out, and maintaining, a five to seven point spread, leading into halftime 35-29.
Every Mustang hit the floor with Akeem Laurie leading the way hitting for 15 points and added 6 rebounds. However, the story of the game was the adjustment on the glass from the night before. CM controlled the boards out rebounding the Bobcats 48-33. Josh Chery controlled inside play all night hauling down 10 rebounds and added 12 points.
The squad hits the road again 6am Sunday to travel to Vermont Tech for a 1pm tipoff.
